A NEAR EASTERN BRONZE HELMET
CIRCA 8TH CENTURY B.C.
Of conical form with raised ribs at the front, the four arched ribs each with ram head terminals, the central rib from helmet's apex with griffin's head, incised below a winged sun disc of Shamash above a mountain, flanked by Heraldic Kings (or King and Crown Prince) with hands raised in attitude of worship, dotted rosettes and foliate motifs at either side, restored
