NOTE:
Shukun is Liu Shukun, a renowned physician in Beijing. He started out as an eye specialist in the Tongren Hospital in Beijing, and later opened his own hospital-clinic. In his spare time, Liu was an avid collector of Chinese paintings and calligraphy. He was friends with many of the leading artists of the time such as Qi Baishi, Yu Fei'an, Pu Ru, Zhang Daqian, and Xu Beihong. Being Qi Baishi's next door neighbour meant that they were particularly close, and his collection of Qi's paintings is especially rich.
