A French ormolu and onyx three-piece garniture
Last quarter 19th Century
Comprising a clock and pair of twelve-light candelabra, the shaped clockcase surmounted by an urn with foliate handles and laurel swags, above a circular ormolu dial with blue enamelled Roman chapters and twin-barrel movement, inscribed MARBRE ONIX D'ALGERIE/24 Bt des ITALIENS, above a recumbent putto, the sides with lion pelts above an acanthus leaf, on a rectangular base, the movement with roundel stamp for S. Marti & Cie., the candelabra modelled en suite with scrolling candlearms supported on an urn with lion-mask handles, the bases with Neoclassical reliefs
