Georges Weil
Born in Vienna in 1937, Georges Weil studied at the St. Martin's School of Art in, London. In 1957, at the age of 18, he founded "Georges Weil Jewellery Ltd" in Hatton Garden, London. His strong artistic sense enabled him not only to design and manufacture jewellery but also to paint, sculpt and write poetry. He is best known for his use of textured gold combined with precious and semi-precious stones. From 1964 to 1972 he exhibited his collections in Tokyo, Isreal, New York and most notably, at the Foyles Gallery, London.
