NORTH EAST IRAN, 12TH CENTURY
With shouldered spherical body rising to a slightly widening tubular neck with flaring rim, extending at one side to the handle linking down to the shoulder, on short rounded foot, the body engraved with a frontal arched panel of interlaced vine, each side with a similar engraved roundel, a kufic benedictory inscription at the base of the neck, further larger kufic inscription below the mouth, large pomegranate thumbpiece, surface rubbed, small re-engraved areas, green and brown patination

The inscription around the mouth reads:
