Originally from a larger composition, the larger left-hand register with very delicate flowering and leafy sprays together with elegant scrolling saz leaf on a white ground, the right hand formed of part of the green ground border painted with very elegant palmette vine threaded through cusped leaf-motifs between plain red stripes, rim chips

Lot Essay

The identical border design is found on a pair of tiles sold in these Rooms, 11 April 1989, lots 309 and 310. Both these tiles had a small label stuck to the back inscribed in copperplate script: At. Stora Vte. Jenniette Mars 1919 No.C.1586 2 pieces.
