OTTOMAN TURKEY, CIRCA 1570
The square tile divided into two registers, the larger lower one with complex interlaced blue, green and white arabesques against a bright red ground, the upper smaller register with a band of blue, red and green feathery palmettes on a white ground, plain narrow turquoise stripes above, below and dividing the two, corner rejoined, glaze chips

Lot Essay
