Château Latour--Vintage 1970
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
Levels: two bottom neck, three very top, four top and three top/upper shoulder, bin soiled labels
Dark rich red/purple colour. A brilliant aroma, fine aromatic, earthy and spicy. A full-bodied full throttle wine. Really dense, chockerblock full of flavour, and tannin. Chocolate, dark ripe currant fruit. Endless penetration and length. This bottle from the Latour cellar and tasted next one from a private New York cellar. The private one being slightly more advanced, but both were stunning. ***(**) Now - 2020 and beyond. At Christie's Latour dinner, New York, Nov. 2003 DW
