Lot Essay

Influenced by Rose Barton and Mildred Anne Butler, Lady Dobbin was a talented amateur, who moved to Cork in 1887 on her marriage to a successful tobacco manufacturer. She exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy from 1894-1947, particularly local views around Cork. Examples of her work can be seen in the Crawford Art Gallery, Cork.
