Lot Essay

The related oil, painted in 1941, Achill Horses II, was exhibited in the retrospective exhibition of paintings and drawings by Mainie Jellett at the Municipal Gallery of Modern Art, Dublin in 1962. This work was then the property of another artist Stella Frost.
