COMPARATIVE LITERATURE:
Roger Fresco-Corbu, The Era of the Meerschaum Pipe, Country Life, November 10, 1960. Reference is made to pipes made in the late 19th century which were intended to imitate earlier meerschaums dating between 1750-1830. The bowls were moulded out of meerschaum parings and cut to simulate carvings, with a crude appearance and bearing a fictitious date.
