Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1909 and its subsequent sale on 16 January 1911. Furthermore delivered with a copy of the Bulletin de Dépot and two copies of timing sheets of the Geneva Observatory.

To the best of our knowledge, the present watch is the only example of a two-train trip repeater by Patek Philippe with Bulletin d'Observatoire known to this day.

It has been presented at the Geneva Timing Contest in 1914. The renowned precision adjuster, Mr. J. Golay-Audemars, was in charge of the preparations and adjustments. Consequently, the watch obtained the third price in his class with 764 points.

A similar watch with trip minute repeating, also retailed by Hennegen Bates Co., Baltimore, is illustrated in Patek Philippe by M. Huber & A. Banbery, p. 235.
