A Kashan moulded lustre and cobalt-blue tile fragment, central Iran, circa 1285
comprising the upper left hand spandrel of a larger tile, the spandrel filled with scrolling vine around a winged quadruped, the moulded arch with a cobalt-blue inscription, part of a human figure to the left, mounted in plaster -- 8¼in. (21cm.) wide.
