FERNAND GRIVELET

Fernand Grivelet was a vineyard-owner and leading négogiant-éleveur on the Côte de Nuits in the years between the two World Wars. He was an active promoter of Burgundy, and a pillar of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, which was formed in Nuits-Saint-Georges in 1934. His family was proprietor of the Château de Chambolle-Musigny, owning vineyards there, notably in Bonnes-Mares, which was the wine for which the family was best known.
The Domaine has now been dispersed, though vestiges remained until the 1960s (Chambolle-Musigny Amoureuses, Charmes, Beaux-Bruns & Haut-Doix). Anthony Hanson, MW
