Specialist note
The firm of Baguès Frères, Paris, working from the 1930s, produced a wide variety of lighting fixtures and iron work in both modern and old style pieces. They elaborated and mixed the two, using fountains, fruit, flowers, animals and even windmills for their subjects. Their preferred media were clear or opalescent glass beads and rock crystal set in silvered or gilt mounts.
