A pair of French biscuit Turkish figures of a gentleman and companion
LATE 19TH CENTURY, APPLIED BLUE GJ PADS TO BASE FOR GILES LEUNE
He looks to his right wearing a turban, purple jacket applied with gilt medals, a red waistcoat and blue loose breeches decorated with white 'jewelling', and green shoes, he has a sword hanging from his left side and holds a cloak, on a canted sqaure base painted to simulate marble, moulded with a blue border of stylised script; his companion is similarly modelled wearing a flowered dress tied at the waist with a white and gilt sash decorated with white 'jewelling', her long dark hair is tied with blue ribbon and she holds a multi-coloured parrot on her right hand, standing before a large blue vase, on a similarly canted base moulded with stylised script (restored)
She stands 14½ in. (37 cm.) high (2)
