[BINDING]. Recueil des Comedies et Ballets Representes sur le Theatre des petits Appartemens pendant l'Hiver de 1747 a 1748. [Paris, 1748].

9 parts in one volume, 8o (198 x 129 mm). Contemporary red morocco gilt, sides stamped with a rococo plaque border of volutes, shells, interlacing strapwork and floral designs presumably from the DUBUISSON shop, Dutch-gilt endpapers (minor chipping to spine ends and corners). Provenance: Alfred Piet (bookplate).

Pierre-Paul Dubuisson (active 1746-1762) and his father René specialized in the finishing or dorure of almanachs, for which they developed the use of engraved plaques stamped by a press, a practice quickly adopted by their peers.
