Lot Essay

The menuki accompanied by a Tokubetsu Kicho [Especially Precious Sword] certificate from 1960, issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai [Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword], attributing the menuki to the Goto school. The kozuka accompanied by an NBTHK certificate from 1972, attributing the kozuka to Goto Kenjo (7th Main Line Master 1586-1663).
