A Steiff centre-seam teddy bear
with golden mohair, black boot button eyes, pronounced muzzle, remains of black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed elongated limbs, hump and FF button in ear, circa 1910 --19in. (48cm.) high (very worn, darns to muzzle, patch to one ankle and pads recovered) and a photograph holding this bear

Lot Essay

This teddy bear was passed to the current owners in around 1914, and although previously well loved became the proud possesion of sisters Gladys and Hilda. Their mother repaired his pads with a red army uniform from the first World War.
