The Lady-Bird's Lay, London: E. Marshall, [c.1825]. 8° (156 x 100mm). Title with wood-engraved vignette, 7 hand-coloured engraved plates. (?Lacks frontispiece, occasional light spotting, staining and offsetting.) Contemporary pink wrapper with printed label mounted on upper cover (lacking backstrip, corners torn away, some creasing and light staining). Provenance: Nigel Temple Collection. A touching - occasionally comic - collection of verse, attractively and somewhat naively illustrated and coloured. Published anonymously, it is not listed in Halkett & Laing, Gumuchian or Osborne. Sold not subject to return.
