According to Larry Carlton, this guitar was specially made for him by Mike McGuire as a one-off. He used this guitar on many sessions in the 1980s from commercials to album tracks with other artists. Larry Carlton has worked with a vast array of artists as a session musician including Barbara Streisand, Randy Crawford, Steely Dan, Chet Atkins, Joni Mitchell and Michael Jackson.
