A PLAINS WOOD AND HIDE QUIRT
composed of an expanding wood haft of flattened rectangular section, carved with a series of surmounted notches, decorated with small brass tacks and bone finial, pierced through the base for attachment of a hide wrist strap, with red-dyed porcupine quillwork and a beaded medallion, sinew sewn in white, white-heart red, and two shades of blue beads, leather whip attached at top with wrapped, braided, and twisted decoration
