A George II silver cruet
Mark of Frederick Kandler, London, 1748
Hexafoil, on four splayed shell feet, with foliage-capped scroll legs and reeded rings, the central handle with moulded mid-ribs and shell and double-scroll ring handle, fitted with one larger and two smaller pepperettes, each baluster form with moulded borders, scrolling pierced covers and baluster finials, and two cut-glass bottles, each mounted with silver collar, hinged domed cover and foliage-capped scroll handle, the frame applied with a cast and engraved coat-of-arms in floral and rocaille cartouche, the pepperettes engraved with a coat-of-arms, one jar mount engraved with a crest, marked on base of frame, papperettes, and two pepperette covers

The arms are those of Hales impaling Webb for Sir Edward Hales 5th Bt. (d.1802) and his first wife Barbara-Mabella (d.1770), daughter of Sir John Webb 3rd Bt. (d.1745) of Oldstock.
