A silver/gilt and enamel openface lever pocketwatch for the Chinese market.
Unsigned, circa 1850's
the profusely chased and engraved bar movement, jewelled to the centre, the three armed steel balance with blued steel 'wings' and counter poised lever escapement, under glazed hinged cuvette, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, typical blued steel hands and sweep centre seconds, the silver gilt case with painted enamel scene of two doves at rest surrounded by flowers, with moulded rim, bezel and pendant.
