The brass dial with silvered and engraved Indiana figural spandrels to the Roman and Arabic chapter ring, the matted centre with date aperture flanking a silvered plaque signed JOHANNES VAN WYK AMSTERDAM and with ringed winding holes and sectors indicating month and day of week each with figural representation and zodiacal symbol, with alarm setting disc and black-painted steel hands, with subsidiary silvered ring with rolling moon and an astronomical dial in the arch engraved with the hours of the day (XII-VIII and XII-IIII), the month and its number of days, a figural representation of the twelve signs of the zodiac, the Latin name of the star sign and its appropriate symbol, the time of sunrise and sunset, with later sun hand with later engraved brass radiant sun mask, lacking moon hand and the 24 hours of the day hand, the twin barrel movement with anchor escapement and Dutch strike on two bells, the equation and calendar work positioned between the dial and the front plate
