A Meissen Kakiemon shallow bowl
CIRCA 1726-28, BLUE ENAMEL CROSSED SWORDS MARK, DREHER'S INCISED X, REMOVED ENGRAVED JAPANESE PALACE INVENTORY MARK
Painted in the typical palette and enriched in gilding, with a phoenix in flight by two flowering shrubs issuing from banded hedges, with scattered red flowerheads and stylised rocks below, the border with three meandering flowering prunus branches, the flowers enriched in gilding, brown line rim (centre with areas of wear, rim with minute wear, reverse with firing crack)
