A Meissen (Marcolini) large dish
CIRCA 1785, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS AND * MARK, VARIOUS PRESSNUMMERN, THE FOOTRIM WITH BLUE DOT AND 4 (?) MARKS
Decorated in Paris or Brussels, probably by Louis Cretté, with a wooded landscape with a peacock perched in a tree and a bird in flight above, the elaborate border with six small gilt-edged black lozenge-shaped medallions with pink roses dividing black and grey foliage with pendant red husks and issuing large puce and red scrolls with gilt ivy and foliage and with pendant garlands of gilt foliage alternating with garlands of gilt dot ornament, between gilt bands at the edge of the well and rim (fairly extensive re-touching to gilt band rim, minute areas of flaking to gilt band at edge of well, peacock's right wing with scratch)
