Bocquet à Paris. Circa 1850
The movement with stoned plates and signed on the dial plate Bocquet à Paris flanked by twin silvered dials, the left dial with Roman chapters and Breguet-style gold hour and minute hands, the opposing seconds dial with blued steel hand, the pillar plate supporting the dial plate with three conical pillars with polished steel screws, thirty-hour going barrel, high count train, wheels with five crossings each secured to their collets with five polished steel screws, the escapement comprising a stoned bridged platform with polished steel screws, cut bimetallic compensated balance with wedge-shaped heat compensation weights, long blued steel helical spring, spring detent escapement with jewelled locking stone, secured within a circular ormolu base with glass dome, the glazed underside with milled gilt-brass caps for the hand-set and winding square access
