The case modelled with three addorsed bronze female robed figures emblematic of Art, Science and Industry, and signed on the base E. de Labrotte fbt, supported on an octagonal rouge girotte two-tier base with gilt painted mouldings, with blue painted celestial sphere supported on palm fronds and studded with gilt metal stars and with the signs of the zodiac, fronted by the dial with applied brass Roman chapters and gilt serpentine hands, signed indistinctly E. & E. EMANUEL/THE HARD PORTSEA, the eight day twin barrel rear-wound movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell, the back plate signed E & E EMANUEL/BY APPOINTMENT TO THE QUEEN/THE HARD PORTSEA -- 27in.(68.5cm.) high
