A Swiss silver and enamel miniature travel timepiece, early 20th century
The formerly silver-gilt rectangular case on toupie feet and decorated to all sides with bands of pale green translucent enamel embellished with trailing flowerheads, the underside of the case with Continental hallmarks including CG within a shield, also stamped for Geneva Watch Company and numbered 2398, the off white enamel circular dial with raised gilt dot minute markers and conforming rings around the blue Arabic chapters, gilt hands, with retail signature J.C. VICKERY/REGENT ST./LONDON and inscribed below SWISS MADE, the eight day single barrel movement with cut bimetallic balance with lever escapement positioned on a gilt back plate with repeat number -- 2in. (5cm.) high; with original brown leather front-opening travel case
