Type: 1:113(110)R. 6- to 8-line initial spaces, a few with guide-letter. (Faint spotting.)

BINDING: French 18th-century olive-green morocco, triple fillet border on sides, spine gilt in compartments, marbled endpapers, gilt edges (light repairs at corners and head and foot of spine, few small scratches).

FIRST EDITION of Poggio's history of the Florentine republic from 1350-1455, translated into Italian by Poggio's son. It is often accompanied by Bruni's Historiae Florentini populi, printed by Rubeus in a similar format one month earlier; the Duc de La Vallière owned a copy of each work, uniformly bound, and they were offered as separate lots in his 1767 sale (Bruni as lot 4389).
