A Japanese Kakiemon-style teapot, early 18th century
decorated in green, iron-red, aubergine enamels and gilt with bands of swirling lappet borders above flowering prunus branches surrounding kidney-shaped recesses containing moulded birds perched on rockwork to one side, an peony issuing from rockwork to the reverse -- 4 1/8in. (10.4cm.) high.
