A brocade cover, woven in coloured silks and metal thread with meandering bands of pink, blue and yellow flowers including carnations, cornflowers and roses against a metal figured ground woven with curving stems and simulated drapery, backed with sky blue silk moiré and trimmed with gilt braid--78 x 63in. (198 x 160cm.), probably French, 1740s
