Une superbe et importante coupe en argent à deux poignées munie d'un couvercle, offert à la voiture victorieuse, la Bentley Speed Six conduite par Woolf Barnato et Frank Clément; finement réalisée en argent par les frères Harrisson et Howson, d'une forme traditionnelle, avec des décorations relevées et motifs de feuilles sur les poignées, sur le couvercle et à la base. Avec inscription gravée sur le devant 'JCC- La course Double Twelve» organisée par le Junior Car Club, la coupe du vainqueur, Brooklands le 9 et 10 mai 1930, remportée par Woolf Barnato et F.C. Clément, voiture no 2, Bentley; à la vitesse de 86.68 mph» inscrit au verso 'Représenté par Lord Wakefield of Hythe CBE - 1930'» estampillé Londres 1928; pour un poids de 3,399 kg. Ce magnifique trophée surmonte une base en bois d'ébène tourné, le tout contenu dans une magnifique caisse de transport, recouverte extérieurement en cuir Connolly vert sombre avec l'inscription: 'Winged B', au sommet, les deux portes s'ouvrant pour laisser apparaître un intérieur capitonné de velours vert. A fine and large two-handled silver trophy cup with cover, presented to the winning car, Bentley Speed Six Team Car driven by Woolf Barnato and Frank Clement; finely crafted sterling silver by Harrison Brothers and Howson, fabricated of classical form, with raised decoration and foliate design to handles, cover and base; engraved and inscribed to front 'JCC - The British Double Twelve Hour Race, organised by the Junior Car Club, The Winning Driver's Cup, Brooklands May 9th & 10th 1930, Won by Woolf Barnato and F.C. Clement, Car No 2, Bentley; Speed 86.68mph and engraved and inscribed to reverse 'Presented by Lord Wakefield of Hythe CBE - 1930'; hallmarked stamped London 1928: weight 110oz (3.399kg). This magnificent trophy surmounts a turned ebonised wooden plinth base and is contained in a superb specially fitted travelling case, trimmed to the outside in dark green Connolly leather with tooled 'Winged B' motif to top, the two hinged doors opening to reveal the interior trimmed with matching green velvet-lining. Height 18 in.

Ce trophée unique remis la première fois il y a plus de 70 ans, fut décerné pour une magnifique victoire aux pilotes de la voiture gagnante, qui est offerte à la vente aujourd'hui sous le lot 84. Comme il convient, les deux sont proposés à la vente pour la première fois au même moment, et, qui sait, ils pourraient bien être réunis après tant d'années.
This unique trophy first presented over 70 years ago, was awarded for a fine victory to the drivers of the actual winning car, which is offered as lot 84 later in this sale today. It is fitting that the two should be offered together for the first time, and if appropriate it is possible they may perhaps be reunited after so many years apart.
