Anna Petrovna Ostroumova-Lebedeva worked with engraving techniques, lithography and watercolors. She studied at the Stieglitz School of Technical Drawing (1889-92) and at the St. Petersburg Academy under I. Repin, V. Mathé and P. Tchistiakov. During that time she took leave to work in Paris at Karmen Rossi and James Whistler's studio and in 1906 she studied at E. Zvantzeva's school under Leon Bakst.
She is one of the founding members of the 'World of Art' group.
