SYRIA, CIRCA 2ND - 3RD CENTURY A.D.
Her head turned slightly to her left, wearing a beaded necklace with a ram-head pendant overlapping the scoop neckline of her garment, her wavy hair center parted, wearing an openwork fitted cap adorned with two groups of three concentric semicircles joined by two crossing swaths of fabric, thick ringlets of hair tied beside each ear, several locks at the back falling to the nape of her neck, her fleshy lips slightly parted, the thickly-lidded eyes articulated, the surface roughly picked throughout, perhaps for the adherence of stucco overlay
