An English pearlware named globular-shaped teapot and cover
CIRCA 1790
Printed and painted with a seated fortune-teller before a table and two lady customers, one in tears holding a scrap of paper which reads Never to be married, the other looking at a piece of paper which reads A brisk husband soon, titled beneath the spout in black script Martha Elliot/Sparsholt, the reverse printed and painted with an astrological chart, below an iron-red and puce border of trefoils and suspended husks (slight chipping to spout and rims, crack to base and hairline crack to cover)
