MARK OF ALEXANDRE THIERRY, PARIS, 1819-1838
Vase form, the pedestal base with pierced gallery of putti and festoons, raised on four paw feet, the acanthus decorated stem supporting a pierced bowl of bacchic putti and trophies, with detachable glass liner, the handles formed as swans, the cover with beaded border and berry-clad ring handle, marked on base, body, cover and handle, with a set of twelve Empire style spoons, mark of P. Queille, Paris, post 1838; together with a French silver-gilt sugar bowl and cover, mark of Marc Jacquart, Paris, 1789-1809, the open-work plinth on four ball feet, the partly fluted bowl pierced with embracing couples and anthemion, with swing handle, the cover engraved with grapevine and surmounted by grapebunch finial, lacking glass liner, marked on base and cover
