Each circular, the border in high relief with reclining female figures with astrological symbols, the cavetto with mythical birds and the months January-June on one charger, and July-December on the other, the center of each with a ring of putti carrying emblems of the four seasons, each with presentation inscription, each marked on reverse

The inscription reads: To Professor Bonamy Price. FROM H.R.H. Prince Leopold December 1875 (2)
Lot Essay
Professor Bonamy Price (1807-1888) was a renowned lecturer of political economy at Oxford. Prince Leopold (1853-1884), the youngest son of Queen Victoria, was one of his students.
