A German carved ivory lidded jug

The fluted and foliate-carved hinged cover surmounted by a cymbal-clashing Bacchic putto, above an acanthus-carved frieze and everted spout carved to the underside with a fruit-garlanded Bacchic mask, the cylindrical body carved with a continuous scene of frolicking drunken putti, above an acanthus and egg-and-dart-carved lower section, mounted with a scrolled handle centred by a putto, on spreading stem and acanthus-carved foot, the underside with sale lot label printed G.
