Lot Essay

The firescreen with its 'Elizabethan' bobbin-turned trestles and frame is designed en suite with the table (Lot 840), so can probably be identified with '2 Fire Screens' inventoried in 1839 in Georgiana, Duchess of Bedford's drawing Room.
