A GEORGE III INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD
LATE 18TH CENTURY
Generally as for 1796 pattern, with fixed boat-shell guard and wire-wound grip, straight fullered 31¾ in. (81 cm.) blade, bearing traces of etched decoration, lacking scabbard, quillon missing;
together with a British cavalry officer's 1912 pattern sword - 35¼ in. (89.2 cm.) blade etched with foliate decoration and 'GR' cypher, lacking scabbard; and a group of military items for the rank of Lord Lieutenant, comprising:- a full-size broad riband for a Grand Companion of the Royal Victorian Order, lacking badge; and a short broad riband of the same, for Evening Dress wear; a General Officer's shoulder-sash, woven in gold with crimson stripes and fringe tassels; a staff officer's gold and crimson aiguillette; a pair of plated silver shoulder-cords for a Lieutenant of an English county, bearing a King's Crown above the Rose, both in gold embroidery
