BUNTING, B. Poems: 1950. Preface by Dallam Flynn. New York: Kasper & Horton, [?1951]. 8° (228 x 155mm). (Very light marginal browning.) Original printed [?third] issue wrappers pasted over first issue wrappers, with Kasper & Horton imprint on spine, lower wrapper with 'eighteen' correctly set in l.4 but first letter of 'translated' dropped in l.23 (spine somewhat faded, some marking). Provenance: occasional pencilled annotations. FIRST EDITION, [?]third issue, with Kasper & Horton imprint but with 'COPYRIGHT 1950 BY BASIL BUNTING' on verso of title. Guedalla A2. FIRST EDITIONS IN THREE STATES OF BUNTING'S SECOND BOOK. Poems: 1950 was originally published by Dallam Flynn (or Simpson), a fervent proponent of Ezra Pound; Guedalla comments that 'it is said that [Flynn] compiled the book at Pound's instigation'. The sheets of the first issue were then acquired by Kasper & Horton, who re-issued the work with new wrappers bearing their imprint; there appear to be two states of this issue which are not distinguished by Guedalla--one without and one with the copyright notice on the verso of the title, and the variations in the text on the lower wrapper noted above.
