Lot Essay

Cazabon included a plate of the Garden Estate, Arouca in his Album of Trinidad, Paris, 1857 (pl.8) (for which see lot 104). For three watercolours by Cazabon from the same collection as the present lot see Christie's, 14 July 1995, lots 9-11.
