Of foliated hexagonal form, the cover finely carved with a scene of two scholars seated drinking wine at a table inside a lakeside pavilion calling out to a servant in a sampan to refill their cups, all framed by rocks and trees, the sides of the box, three middle trays and bottom section carved with chrysanthemum sprays, the interiors and base lacquered in dark brown
