This is the left screen of a pair showing famous places in the capital as well as seasonal events, such as the making of tatami at the end of the year. There are many amusing scenes of street life and craftsmen at work.

A few of the famous places on the western side of the capital, from right to left (or north to south), are the Golden Pavilion, Kitano Shrine, Omuro, Nijo Castle, the Oi River in Arashiyama, Matsuo Taisha, Toji and Nishi Honganji.
