the circular white enamel Roman dial with gilt moon hands set within a drum-shaped case surmounted by an urn with flambeau finial and fruiting foliage, supported by a lion mask and bellflower upright, flanked by the figure of a maiden seated on a stool, a spinning-wheel to her side, on stepped waisted base centred by a lyre trophy within ribbon-tied laurel wreath, with fruit and cabochon border, on central cartouche foot and scroll feet to the sides, stamped HEMART 92, the twin going barrel movement with countwheel strike on bell, stamped on the backplate 37880 VR BREVETE PARIS -- 18½in.(47cm.) wide
