The crouching mouse with black painted details, an octopus on each side with unfurled tentacles, an oblique spout on rump and round mouth on centre back, flanked by two small suspension lugs

For a similar mouse askos attributed to the Randazzo Group in the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, cf. J. M. Padgett et al., Vase Painting in Italy, Boston, 1993, p. 187, no. 106, where it suggests that these askoi were used as feeding bottles.
