A GREEK GOLD LYNX OR CARACAL EARRING PROTOME
2ND-1ST CENTURY B.C.
The lynx forepart emerges from a collared spool, with incised details, an attachment loop on crown of head; and a Hellenistic gold pendant in the form of a frontal lion's head, decorated with extensive granulation and spiked mane, suspension loop above, circa 3rd Century B.C.
