A ROMAN BRONZE FIBULA WITH FOUR HORSE HEADS
4TH-5TH CENTURY A.D.
Of swastika form with each arm a stylized horse's head, 1¼ in. (3.2 cm.) diam.; three further bronze fibulae, one in the shape of a rabbit with rabbit-shaped recesses for inlay, a trumpet fibula in the shape of a stylized elephant head and trunk, and another in the shape of a bird, all circa 2nd-4th Century A.D.; a Romano-British bronze hare fibula; another similar duck fibula with inlays, both 2nd Century A.D.; and a Byzantine bronze cockerel fibula, circa 10th Century A.D., 2¼ in. (5.5 cm.) long max. (7)
